When I was 19 I travelled to Israel and immersed myself into an Ulpan (intensive Hebrew language program) on Kibbutz Ginegar in the Jezreel Valley.
This communal farm is a literal garden of Eden and grows a plethora of crops including olives that are harvested and brined right on the Kibbutz and served to its members at every meal, even breakfast.
The memory of the wonderful colours of the olives inspired my choice of colours in this herringbone stitched cuff.
