From a very young age, I was drawn into the world of jewellery in the most unexpected way. My mother and aunt would give me their broken or unwanted pieces to play with—little treasures that quietly sparked a lifelong passion for colour, texture, and design.
By my pre-teen years, I had begun collecting beads in earnest. Never one for the understated, I was captivated by bold, vibrant, and richly textured pieces. The spirit of the sixties—playful, expressive, and full of sensory delight—only deepened my love for dramatic and meaningful adornment.
Largely self-taught, I explored endlessly. I worked with beads of all kinds, incorporated found objects and flea market discoveries, and even began crafting my own beads from clay, wood, and paper—painting and shaping them to reflect the styles I admired, often inspired by cultures around the world. Over time, I’ve continued to study other bead artists and techniques, always learning, always evolving.
Travel has been another profound influence. Wherever I’ve gone, I’ve been drawn to the jewellery and ornamentation that express the identity and spirit of different cultures. That inspiration lives on in my work today, where I celebrate diversity, storytelling, and connection through every piece I create.
After a fulfilling career in Social Services—where jewellery-making served as a form of meditation and creative grounding—I am now delighted to share my creations with you.
